"l'été abstrait" is the answer for the north of germany´s to the balearic chillout culture. since 2001, the chillout sessions are the summer variations of "le café abstrait". during the 2 first years, the event was located at the mojo club and the resident dj raphaël marionneau invited internationally famous guests like dj ravin from buddha bar to play their set, offering to the visitors a summer feeling. in summer 2003, "l'été abstrait" moved to the sandworld, the biggest sand sculpture festival in europe in travemünde and became a great success. discover new summer emotions, enjoy the sunset, the wind of the baltic sea, a wonderful venue and raphaël's unique music. the summer is "abstrait"...

don’t mind your passport, tickets and luggage: this time the only thing you will travel with is yourself. set out to discover a place that seems to be far away but is located only some sixty minutes north of hamburg, a place that seems to be a part of the summer, an answer to your dreams. this is sandworld: europe’s largest festival completely build out of sand. “l'été abstrait” turns it into magic. simply make yourself comfortable in one of the many lounge chairs, enjoy the sea gulls singing their songs, the whispering of the ocean, feel the warm wind and listen raphaël marionneau’s unique set. while the sun slowly goes down, providing space for the glittering stars, you will see that it is not just travemünde beach you are at, but moreover a place of harmony, somewhere on this planet. watch the slideshow

for the first event inside and outside the mojo club, at reeperbahn 1, abstrait network and mojo club invited ibiza´s dj m.o.c pauli (bambuddha grove). selected as highlight of the month by the local press (prinz, szene and hamburger abendblatt), this event has been the most successfull abstrait event at mojo club with more than 700 guests during a warm night in august.

in summer 2002, raphaël invited dj ravin (buddha bar, paris) for an oriental summer night during the second event inside and outside the mojo club and mandarin.

... to the beach
during three evenings in july, august and september at the 2nd german sand sculpture festival sandworld 2003 in lübeck-travemünde, the visitors enjoyed for the first time the couch-culture in open air: the venue has been transformed into a relaxing place with long chair, summer lounge, listening raphaël´s chill-out set, watching the sand sculptures, enjoying the sea, the sunset, ferry-boats leaving the port and the summer´s warm wind. with more than 1.000 visitors during each sunset session, "l‘été abstrait" has been a great success with an unforgetable atmosphere and a summer highlight. in summer 2007, l'été abstrait celebrated its 5th session in travemünde.
